Introduction to Blue Delta Hyacinths
Hyacinths are early spring bloomers that smell divine. The Blue Delta variety offers a captivating blend of white and blue flowers, creating a striking display that captures the essence of spring.
Aside from their beauty, Blue Delta hyacinths provide a valuable food source for bees when they need it most. They are perfect for adding a pop of early spring color to your garden and rejuvenating your winter-weary soul.
Planting Directions
Each order includes a mix of 9 bulbs. To plant, choose a sunny spot, dig holes about 4-6 inches deep and space them 3-4 inches apart. Cover the bulbs with soil, water generously, and eagerly await your divine-scented blooms.
Hyacinths need at least a half day of sun to flower well and store up enough energy for the following spring’s display. They grow in any well-drained soil. The flower heads are at their largest and fullest the first spring after planting; in subsequent years the flowers tend to be more loose and informal.
Note: Hyacinth bulbs can irritate your skin. Wear gloves when handling and plan on showering soon after planting.
TIP: Ornamental alliums protect hyacinths. You can find them here, and drumstick alliums and grape hyacinths can be found in our pollinator box.
