The Fanny Dwight Clark Memorial Garden Inc Auxiliary is well known for their annual Spring Plant Sale. Cars line up outside the garden on the first weekend in May, knowing the supplies are limited and smart gardeners want the best variety. This year, the Auxiliary is adding on a fall planted bulb sale to raise funds and help gardeners be ready for a colorful spring garden.
Plant Fall Bulbs for Spring Color
Fall planted bulbs are like a garden crock pot recipe. Plant the bulbs before the ground freezes, and set the timer for ‘spring.’ Look out your window and watch the magic unfold; the work is done and you can be the envy of your neighbors!
The Auxiliary has curated a selection of spring ‘fan favorites’ with a unique touch. Among them are stunning tulips that resemble peonies, and daffodils that yield an incredible 10 or more flowers per bulb! Additionally, you’ll find a fabulous mix of majestic alliums to add drama to your garden. To further support early season foragers, they have assembled a Pollinator Box containing five distinct varieties of early spring blossoms.
All of the bulbs selected are high quality Dutch-sourced bulbs that have been tested and recommended for Long Island’s growing zone. High quality bulbs are bigger in comparison to other bulbs of the same variety and flower more profusely. Second rate bulbs have smaller blooms and often don’t return year after year.

54 Years of Friendship and Fundraising
The Auxiliary of the Fanny Dwight Clark Memorial Garden, Inc recently marked their 54th year of fundraising achievements! Members gathered at Piccolo’s of Mineola, a local family-owned restaurant, enjoying delicious homemade ravioli while reminiscing and discussing upcoming events. Shared appreciation for the beauty and rich history of Clark Botanic Garden unites the members, just as food does.
Auxiliary fundraising efforts have supported many projects for Clark Botanic Garden, including the new sensory garden that was completed this year. The sensory garden includes a water feature, wind chimes, and a paved seating area in a tranquil setting.
Through this sale, you will not only support the fundraising efforts but also gain valuable knowledge on easily planting your own bulbs. Each of the items in our collection include planting instructions and growing tips
